Vintage Wardair Deck of Playing Cards

Sold: $9.99 Fees: $2.60 Profit: $7.39

This deck of sealed playing cards from Wardair Air was in among the random lot of stuff where I bought the contents of the garage at the Kemptville auction.

Puremco Professional Size Double 6 Dominoes

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $14.99 Fees: $1.08 Profit: $13.91

This came in a hanging baggie at VV with something else that I wanted. I didn't think much of this, but looked it up anyways, and saw I could get a few bucks for it. Someone local bought it and will pick it up later this week.

Jyhad and VTES Vampire: The Eternal Struggle cards

Bought: $2.25 Sold: $49.99 Fees: $6.40 Profit: $41.34

This was a lot of cards from a collectible card game called Jyhad - the name was later changed to Vampire: The Eternal Struggle. By no means a quick seller, it took over a year to sell, but I'll take this ROI any day.

5 AMI American Microsystems Inc Update Bulletins

Sold: $9.99 Fees: $1.55 Profit: $8.44

This is five bullentins from a company called AMI from 1974. These were part of that large ephemera lot I purchased last year. It took over a year to sell, but this seemingly random lot of bulletins found a buyer!

Star Trek The Next Generation Deep Space Nine

Sold: $4.99 Fees: $1.04 Profit: $3.95

This is an interesting mini-series. DC Comics owned the comic rights to Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Malibu comics owned the comics rights to Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. This was a cross-over between the two titles, with each company publishing two issues of the crossover.

Current profit off the comic auction: $1,068.32

4 Vintage Cast Iron Acorn Finials

Sold: $49.99 Fees: $6.52 Profit: $43.47

These are four cast iron finials (I word I learned when listing these). They are quite heavy - almost 500 grams each. They are clearly vintage and have some wear, but are pretty nifty looking. They were part of a random box lot I purchase at auction. They are being shipped to California - which is costing a fortune - but I'm glad they sold!

175th Anniversary City of Sydney Nova Scotia Souvenir Wooden Nickle

Sold: $4.99 Fees: $0.56 Profit: $4.43

This is a commemorative wooden nickel. This was among the lot of royalty trinkets I purchased at auction a couple years ago - despite having nothing to do with royalty. It, not surprisingly, was purchased by someone in the city of Sydney Nova Scotia.

Amazing Spider-Man #394

Sold: $1.99 Fees: $0.73 Profit: $1.26

This is the only issue of Amazing Spider-Man that I purchased in the comic lot, and I had 7 copies of it. This is the third copy I've sold so far.

Current profit off the comic auction: $1,064.37

The Story of American Bank Note Company

Bought: $4.37 Sold: $99.99 Fees: $11.61 Profit: $84.01

I stopped by the Cornwall VV while in town for work on Friday and I wasn't finding much so I wandered down the book aisles. I tend to stay away from books - far too many people go everyday and scan every book and make it hard to find anything and I do well enough with everything else. But I still check the books to see if anything stands out. I try to look for odd or interesting books, ideally books with small print runs. This is a book self-published in 1958 by the American Bank Note Company about the company's history and inside was a note indicated that it was a pre-release gift to someone. I searched it on eBay and saw that a number had sold for about $100, so for $4 it was an obvious buy. I listed it yesterday and sold it today. Less than 48 hours from buying it to having it sold, and with a nice $80 profit.

Grandfather's Estate: Bose Alarm Clock

Sold: $119.99 Fees: $15.39 Profit: $104.60
My 50% Commission: $52.30

My grandfather enjoyed high-end electronics, and despite this Bose alarm clock being an older model it still sold quickly and for a good price.

The New Mutants #36-38

Someone bought these three consecutive issues of The New Mutants.

Current profit off the comic auction: $1,063.11

Stephen King's Christine

Bought: $4.37 Sold: $14.99 Fees: $2.80 Profit: $7.82

I was in the Cornwall VV after finishing court there, and I didn't have a lot of time, but as I was walking through the books one of the employees was putting a number of hardcover Stephen King books up. I grabbed them all, and they all looked like they might be first editions. I didn't have time to look each one up, so I just took a chance and bought them. Unfortunately they weren't first editions, but rather very early book club editions, which are not worth nearly as much. I'll make maybe $5 a book, as opposed to $100s. Decided I'd still list them and make back my money. This one sold in a few hours of being listed.

Grandfather's Estate: Mr. Bean DVDs

Sold: $4.99 Fees: $2.67 Profit: $2.32
My 50% Commission: $1.16

This is the complete Mr. Bean boxset, but DVDs really aren't much anymore. I decided I'd try and get $5 as opposed to just donating it, and thankfully it sold quickly.

SPI Strategy & Tactics #70 Game Magazine

Sold: $44.99 Fees: $5.88 Profit: $39.11

One of the wargame magazines that I got in that large lot at an auction a few months ago.

Three NES Games

Sold: $149.97 Fees: $19.26 Profit: $130.71

These three NES games, all with box and manual, were part of the video game lot, and all sold to the same buyer. Nice to see the video games from the video game lot finally selling. I think I will end up doing very well with this lot.

Wonder Woman #20

Sold: $35.00 Fees: $4.85 Profit: $30.15

This is a really early issue of Wonder Woman. It is #20 from 1947. It is unfortunately not complete and not in great shape. If this was complete it would be worth a significant amount more. That being said, despite missing the cover and a number of pages it still sold, and for a very good price! I'm happy with the sale. This was part of the Kemptville auction.

Uncanny X-Men #118

Sold: $9.99 Fees: $1.55 Profit: $8.44

Another comic sold from the Kemptville auction. Not in great shape, but an important issue so I'll take the $10.

Sold: $40.00 Fees: $7.74 Profit: $32.26
My 50% Commission: $16.13

My grandfather had 100s of decks of playing cards. While I haven't sorted through them yet, this one caught my eye. It is a deck of cards with each card bearing the still image from a scene from the movie Shoppe of Temptations, which appears to be an adult film the 1970's.

Skylander Figures

Bought: $4.51 Sold: $10.00 Fees: $2.42 Profit: $3.07
Chris's 10% Commission: $0.31

These are four figures that are used as part of the Skylanders video game. I honestly don't know why Chris bought these, since they are not very valuable and have sat for over a year, but I'm just glad they finally sold.

Ghost in the Shell Comics

Bought: $7.28 Sold: $249.99 Fees: $27.18 Profit: $215.53

I picked up this entire run of the Ghost in the Shell comics at Value Village for $1 each. They were also in remarkable condition for being found at a thrift store. This series was not very popular when first printed, but since then has gained popularity, and the recent movie staring ScarJo helped increased the popularity. I wish I could get this ROI on all my comics! This is off to Sweden - fingers crossed it arrives safely.

Grandfather's Estate: Pulp Novel

Sold: $9.99 Fees: $1.55 Profit: $8.44
