Two Hellraiser comics

Sale Price: $9.98 Fees: $1.64 Profit: $8.34

Sold these two issues of Hellraiser to someone for $5 each, which is not too shabby!

Current profit off the comic auction: -$1,443.97

Grendel Tales Four Devils One Hell #1-6

Sale Price: $4.99 Fees: $1.04 Profit: $3.95

This is a 6-issue mini-series. Obviously not a very popular series, but I'm just happy they sold. My goal is two-fold - make a profit (ideally at least double my investment) and sell every comic. Every dollar helps!

Current profit off the comic auction: -$1,452.31

How to Operate Type RX Transformer Manual

Sale Price: $4.99 Fees: $0.68 Profit: $4.31

This is a manual from the ephemera for a Type RX transformer. It is a short four page manual, but very dated. I'll take $5 for a piece of paper!

A really old computer button

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $4.99 Fees: $0.66 Profit: $4.33

This is a button promoting MIPS RISC, a dated computer technology. It has batteries on the back and there is a red light that lights up on the front. I thought this would sell to some nerd for sure, and while it finally did, it took months.

New Kids on the Block Backstage Pass #7

Sale Price: $4.99 Fees: $0.82 Profit: $4.17

This is an issue of the New Kids on the Block comic. This sold within an hour of listing, so I probably sold it too cheap. There were no copies of this issue for sale, but the other issues in the series were selling for cheaper than this. If I had to guess as this was the last issue in the series it had a lower print run and so less copies of it exist. That being said, I still got $5 for a comic and there cannot be that many people who want a New Kids on the Block comic. I might have managed to get more for it but I might have waited a very long time for someone willing to pay a higher price.

7 Red Sonja Comics

Sale Price: $30.00 Fees: $3.31 Profit: $26.69

Someone bought all seven of these Rod Sonja comics. I wish I had more of these.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$1,460.43

Daredevil #323 & #324

Sale Price: $1.99 Fees: $0.57 Profit: $1.42

I sold these two Daredevil comics together as they are part of the same storyline, and on their own they are $1 comics, so figured they'd sell better together and it looks like I was right.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$1,487.12

Secret Wars II Comic Set

Sale Price: $24.99 Fees: $3.90 Profit: $21.09

This is a Marvel comics event series call Secret Wars II that was a mini-series of 9 issues. Not particularly valuable, but nice to have the whole set as it made it easier to sell.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$1,488.54

Lot of Playing Cards

Sale Price: $25.00 Fees: $3.98 Profit: $21.02

One of the lots I recently purchased at an auction had a number of playing card decks in it. I sorted out the ones I thought might sell on their own, and threw the remaining ones into an auction. The auction ran for 7 days with no bidders. So I did it again, and this time there were a number of bidders and 8 watchers. The winning bidder ended up being in Ireland and had not bothered to check what shipping would be, and as this weighed over 2 kilos and as I wasn't going to send it untracked, it would have cost $90 to ship, and as the auction ended at $18.50 she asked to cancel. Thankfully the second highest bidder was willing to buy it at $15, and he also bought another deck of cards I had listed for $10 for a nice total of $25. When I bought the lot at the auction I was not counting on revenue from any of the cards, so this is a nice bonus.

Playboy Vixens

Sale Price: $19.99 Fees: $2.06 Profit: $17.93

Another one of the "gentleman" magazines sold, this one a special edition of Playboy. I had no idea these magazines could sell so well. This is turning out to be quite the profitable lot.

Two Tarzan Comics

Sale Price: $9.98 Fees: $2.08 Profit: $7.90

Two more Tarzan comics sold to the same person who bought the two previous lots of Tarzan comics. I'm not sure why he didn't just buy them all at once and asked for a discount and save on shipping, but hey, if wants to keep buying comics off me I'm not going to complain.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$1,509.63

Rolls Royce Pin

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $14.99 Fees: $1.49 Profit: $13.50

1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympics Pin

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $14.99 Fees: $1.49 Profit: $13.50

Another one of the Lake Placid Olympic pins sold. I guess the winter Olympics are getting people in the spirit of buying Olympic pins.

Heroscape Expansion

Bought: $7.00 Sold: $49.99 Fees: $7.05 Profit: $35.94

This is the last Heroscape expansion set that I had, and it finally sold.

The Republic of Rome Avalon Hill Board Game

Bought: $5.64 Sold: $85.00 Fees: $8.08 Profit: $71.28

This is an Avalon Hill board game that I picked up a few months ago. This board game has been rereleased and is quite popular, but this is the first edition and has a collectible factor because of this.

Lot of 27 French Tarzan Comics

Sale Price: $99.99 Fees: $11.89 Profit: $88.10

This is a lot of French Tarzan comics. I knew I'd never be able to sell these on their own, but I was hoping if I combined them as a lot someone would want them. I figured they'd sell eventually to someone in Quebec, but I figured it would take a couple years. It sold in less than two months, and to someone in Vermont - though to a city which is only 25 kilometers from the Quebec border, so my guess was pretty close! This, combined with the French Tarzan book that the Detroit public library bought, means two sales of French Tarzan comics to the USA this weekend - very odd.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$1,517.53

Chelsea Pewter Teddy Bear Pin

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $4.99 Fees: $0.66 Profit: $4.33

This is a pewter teddy bear pin that was in the bag of pins I posted recently. He's a cute little guy, isn't he?

Pac-Man Board Game

Bought: $3.15 Sold: $29.99 Fees: $4.70 Profit: $22.14
Chris's 10% Commission: $2.21

Chris found this at VV, and while not a particularly valuable game, it's still an easy $20 and it sold pretty fast.

Score Magazine

Sale Price: $19.99 Fees: $2.06 Profit: $17.93

Another one of the "gentleman" magazines sold, this one actually includes a DVD of "gentleman" entertainment. This auction pickup is paying off quite well - I've already made over $50 on my $8 investment.

Sgt Fury #50

Sale Price: $4.99 Fees: $0.52 Profit: $4.47

The woman who bought the Star Trek magazine came back and bought this and asked me to combine shipping, which I'll gladly do.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$1,605.63

5 Groo Comics

Sale Price: $21.99 Fees: $2.79 Profit: $19.20

Someone bought five issues of Groo The Wanderer.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$1,610.10

Star Trek The Next Generation #30 Magazine

Sale Price: $4.99 Fees: $0.82 Profit: $4.17

This is a magazine on the TV show Star Trek TNG, and this is the final issue. I'm not sure why this was in among the comics, but it sold so I'm not complaining. It is off to Toronto.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$1,629.30

Tarzan Le Lac du Temps

Sale Price: $19.99 Fees: $3.26 Profit: $16.73

This is a french Tarzan trade paperback from 1973, and it sold to the Detroit public library! How cool is that? This is my second time selling to a library - the first one being in Nunavut. I'm not sure why Detroit would need a french Tarzan comic, but I'm not complaining.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$1,633.47

Canadian Curling Association Pin

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $4.99 Fees: $0.66 Profit: $4.33

This curling pin sold to someone in Hawaii of all places. I wonder if the Winter Olympics had anything to do with this sale.

FHM Issue

Sale Price: $4.99 Fees: $0.82 Profit: $4.17

Another male-orientated magazine from last week's auction pickup sold. It actually sold to a return customer, who I guess was happy with the first magazine he purchased.

Commissioned Item: Marvel All-Star View-Master

Sale Price: $59.99 Fees:$10.08 Profit: $49.91
My 50% cut of the Profit: $24.95

This is a View-Master gift set from 1978 featuring Marvel slides. Chris picked this up at VV for himself years ago but asked me to sell it when he moved. It has sat in my store for over a year, but it finally sold for my full asking price. Not a bad commission.

Pyeongchang Olympic Pin

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $9.99 Fees: $1.08 Profit: $8.91

Another pin from the recent posting. I don't know how someone got a pin for the current winter Olympics, donated it, VV sorted it and sold it, and I bought it and listed it and sold it while the Olympics were still on.

This coin featuring Saint Christopher was in one of the bags of pins I've picked up. A nice little sale.

CBSA Pin
