100 Clay Filled NHL Poker Chips

Bought: $4.51 Sold: $125.00 Fees: $14.91 Profit: $105.58
Chris' 10% Commission: $10.56

Chris found this set of 100 NHL poker chips at VV and I was shocked at what these sold for. These are very high end poker chips, clay filled and weighing 11.5 grams each. I knew that high end poker chips can sell well, but this was a nice surprise. I hope I can find more high end poker chips!

The Creature That Ate Sheboygan

Sold: $49.99 Fees: $6.49 Profit: $43.50

Picked this up in a lot at an auction a few months ago. It was one the main reasons I bought that lot, and I got a great price for it.

X-Factor #5

Sold: $14.99 Fees: $2.07 Profit: $12.92

This issue has the first cameo appearance of Apocalypse in the shadows on the last page. His first "real" appearance is in the next issue. This is a nice price for this issue.

Tyco 6738 Hi-Banked Corkscrew

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $19.99 Fees: $3.86 Profit: $16.13

This is a small Tyco slot car attachment set. I found it inside a track set box that I picked up, and sold this by itself as it would have originally been sold. Not bad to get $20 for something I didn't know I had.

Donald Trump Tie

Bought: $9.03 Sold: $26.00 Fees: $3.91 Profit: $13.06
Chris's 10% Commission: $1.31

Chris picked up this Trump tie back when he was first elected and these were selling quite well. It didn't sell then and has sat since then. I thought for sure I'd be stuck with this, and so when I got an offer today I jumped on it. I just want this gone. Not a huge profit, but at least I no longer have to worry about this not selling.

McDonald's Happy Meal Toy Comb and Stencil

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $4.99 Fees: $0.66 Profit: $4.33

These were part of that large McDonald's lot I picked up at VV a few months back. They are two combs and a stencil, all that were prizes in a Happy Meal at some point.

Fisher Price Little People 1974 Play Family Castle

Sold: $49.99 Fees: $7.41 Profit: $42.58

This is a 1974 Fisher Price Play Castle. It was part of the toy lot I picked up at auction last week. It was one of the reasons I got the lot since I knew by selling it I would make back 50% of my investment in one sale. I priced it a bit lower than comparable ones since it is so large and I wanted to not have to store it for too long. It shockingly sold in only three days! And even more shockingly, it sold to someone in the US - they paid $60 to ship this thing. I don't understand why since there would be cheaper ones on eBay if you could take advantage of American shipping rates. That being said, I am not complaining and I will gladly take the sale.

CN Rail Ceramic Tile Trivet

Bought: $4.51 Sold: $24.99 Fees: $4.39 Profit: $16.09

I picked up a hanging baggie at VV containing four ceramic tile trivets. Two of them were commemorative CN rail ones, this being one of them; and the other two were cruise ship ones. This one sold in just over 24 hours, and paid for the whole baggie and still turned a profit. I thought these would be long tail, so nice to see this sell quickly.

4 Issues of 1963

Sold: $4.99 Fees: $0.82 Profit: $4.17

This is four issues from the series 1963, which was a series written by Alan Moore parodying silver age Marvel comics.

X-Force #2

Sold: $1.99 Fees: $0.73 Profit: $1.26

This is Deadpool's second appearance. Despite that it is not that valuable of a comic, which is disappointing. When I bought this lot I was really hoping it would have Deadpool's first appearance in it, which brings a ridiculous price, but unfortunately it wasn't there.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$912.08

Cookie Monster Play-Doh Set

Bought: $5.64 Sold: $124.99 Fees: $11.67 Profit: $107.68

It still baffles me that there is a Play-Doh set that consistently sells for over $100. It further baffles me that I think I've sold this set now five times. Chris found me another complete set last week, so I'll have another one posted soon. Such a great sale.

Five Daniel Boone Comics

Sold: $49.95 Fees: $7.75 Profit: $42.20

Someone bought 5 comics at $10 an issue - not a bad sale!

New Mutants #3

Sold: $1.99 Fees: $0.57 Profit: $1.42

Nice to sell a comic this weekend. Not a huge sale, but the comic had a fair amount of wear. There are rumours that the demon bear will be the villain in the upcoming New Mutants movie so this comic may possibly increase in value.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$955.54

Schleich 42034 Oracle

Bought: $11.29 Sold: $49.99 Fees: $6.68 Profit: $32.02

This is the other set that the buyer bought - a playset I've now sold 5 copies of. I have no idea how I keep coming across this set, and how four of them were new in box. Did some store in Ottawa just give these away free at some point or something? Now that I've sold this one I'll have to keep an eye out for my next one.

Schleich 42033 Shadow Rock

Bought: $33.89 Sold: $85.00 Fees: $11.03 Profit: $40.08

This is a large Schleich playset. I only knew to look this up because of how many times I've sold the Schleich Oralce playset. This was quite expensive, and I was hoping to get more for it (I had it listed at $125), but with this being so large shipping was very expensive. The buyer made me an offer I normally would have rejected but he offered to buy another Schliech playset, and I didn't wand to turn down two sales - and it's still a decent profit.

Pokemon Trading Card Game Binder

Bought: $2.25 Sold: $19.99 Fees: $2.59 Profit: $15.15
Chris' 10% Commission: $1.52

This is a binder from 1998 to store your Pokemon cards in. Not a huge sale, but it was an easy sale to turn $2 into $20.

Mayfair DC Heroes RPG Batman Book

Sold: $9.99 Fees: $1.55 Profit: $8.44

Another one of the DC RPG books sold. With this sale, I entered the black on this lot, meaning I now have a profit on 10 of the 32 lots.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$956.96

Reveal The Secrets of the Sacred Rose Tarot

Sold: $9.99 Fees: $2.68 Profit: $7.31

I picked up a lot of tarot cards at an auction a few weeks ago. Included in it was a few books on the subject, including this one. It's not a huge profit, but since I bought the lot for the cards and not the books this is extra profit.

X-Force #1

Sold: $1.99 Fees: $0.73 Profit: $1.26

The first issue of X-Force featuring Cable and his team of mutants. This was a widely popular comic in its day, but since it was so popular there are tons of copies of this issue so it is not particularly valuable.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$965.40

Two Magic the Gathering Starter Sets

Bought: $3.38 Sold: $49.99 Fees: $6.49 Profit: $40.12
Bought: $6.78 Sold: $34.99 Fees: $5.03 Profit: $23.18
Chris' 10% Commission: $4.01

I had two of this Magic the Gathering starter set for sale, both complete except that one was missing the VHS tape. This buyer bought both copies. Chris found one of them, so he made a nice commission. Nice to sell both of these together, makes for a very nice sale.

Garbage Pail Kids Card

Sold: $4.99 Fees: $0.52 Profit: $4.47

This was in among the lot of toys I bought at auction last weekend. Garbage Pail Kids cards were released in 1985 by Topps as a satire of the Cabbage Patch Kids and were all rather disgusting. I was there had been more than just this one card, as they are still collectible today.

Got this nice pewter National Film Board pin at VV in a hanging baggie.

Seven Used Bowling Pins

Bought: $17.23 Sold: $74.99 Fees: $10.35 Profit: $47.41
Chris's 10% Commission: $4.74

Chris found these seven bowling pins at a VV for only $15. They are really beat up and clearly heavily used, but I figured that these aren't easy to buy for the average buyer and someone may want them as a room decoration. They are really heavy so shipping was crazy, but they sold to a dentist in Toronto so shipping was only $25. So glad this big heavy box is gone with a nice profit.

Pepsi Messenger Bag

Bought: $5.64 Sold: $34.00 Fees: $5.07 Profit: $23.29
Chris's 10% Commission: $2.33
