1982 Walt Disney World Epcot Figment Acrylic Keychain

Bought: $4.50 Sold: $9.99 Fees: $1.34 Profit: $4.15

I picked up two of these Disney Figment keychains from 1982 at VV. I bought both for $4.50, and this one was pretty badly beat up so I listed it for $10, and I listed the other much better one at $20. This one sold and paid for both of them, and sold in less than two days.

Flipping Experiment #1: Comic and Anime statues, comics and posters - Month #20

December 30th - Darkchylde #4 Comic

Sold for: $29.99 Fees: $5.69

This is a variant cover for issue #4 of Darkchylde. This is not a particularly popular comic, so I'm a bit surprised this variant cover sells for this much, but it did, so I'm not complaining.

December 30th - Cutey Honey Poster

Another poster sold - we're running low on these. This one is of an anime character Cutey Hunny.

December 6th - Mon-sieur Bome Vol 13 - Ignis
Sold for: $20.00 Fees: $5.29

One of the figures from the lot sold. Not a very expensive one, but I'm glad to see anything from this lot sell. I took a best offer on this one just to move it. One more down!

December 6th - Ghost in the Shell Wall Scroll
Sold for: $43.30 Fees: $10.82

This is a massive wall scroll from the comic Ghost in the Shell (upon which the recent movie was based). I had it up for $75, and someone offered me $75 with free shipping. Considering that this has no real offers before and it is huge and taking up space I accepted just to get it sold. Shipping ended up costing me $31 (this thing is massive), but it's still a good profit and one more item sold.

December 17th - Vintage Silver Surfer Magnet
Sold for: $9.99 Fees: $1.00

In the stuff we bought from the locker were 6 of these still sealed Marvel magnet. I listed all 6 together for $40, but they haven't sold. Someone messaged asking if I would just sell one, and I said sure but it'll be $10 and he had no problem with that. So, I have finally sold one of them! I hope the other five sell eventually.

December 20th - Just Teasing Poster Book
Sold for: $25.99 Fees: $3.61

This is a book of poster pin-ups done by Dave Stevens.

December 26th - WildC.A.T.S. Poster

This is another poster, this one of the Image Comic series WildC.A.T.S. by Jim Lee.

Five Lucky Luke Magazines

Sale Price: $49.99 Fees: $6.37 Profit: $43.62

This was a lot of 5 Lucky Luke comics. They are in French, and from the 1960's and 1970's. The lot these came from had a large number of French comics, but also a handful of English ones. The lot was very cheap (ended up winning it for under $20), so I took a chance figuring that someone in Quebec may want some of the French comics. Most, if not all, the sellers of these french comics on eBay are from France and so shipping to Canada is expensive, and so if there was a potential buyer in Canada they would prefer my shipping costs. Combined with that I also severely undercut the market on these comics and sold as a lot to try and move them quickly. Despite this, a buyer in France messaged asking if I would ship there, and despite the absurd cost of $50, they bought them! This sale paid for the whole lot and then some, so that is my 5th out of 32 lots that are now in the black. Even if none of the other French comics sell, and only the English ones do from this lot I'll still be in profit. Also, this sale was in under 48 hours, so that is reassuring.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$3,217.81

Three Vintage Pulp Space Stories Magazines

Bought: $33.06 Sold: $39.99 Fees: $5.69 Profit: $1.24
Chris's 10% Commission: $0.12

Back in the summer Chris found a whole stack of vintage pulp Sci-Fi magazines at VV, and I listed them in lots and ended up with 12 lots. All of them cost me $33, so this one sale paid for everything, and the rest will be pure profit. This is a separate pulp magazine find from the one last week, which was more western themed. This is the first set of magazines to sell from this earlier find. These are long-tail items, and will likely take months of years to find the right buyer but now that the purchase is paid off, I don't sitting on them until they sell as I have nothing to lose.

LEGO Creator 31005 Construction Hauler

Bought: $7.90 Sold: $20.00 Fees: $3.27 Profit: $8.83

I found this new in box Lego set at VV and figured it couldn't be a bad buy. I wasn't wrong, but it really wasn't my time or investment. It is not an old set nor is it particularly interesting or desirable. I'm glad it finally sold, and I have no doubt that any new in box Lego set will eventually sell, but not worth the trouble for only $8.

Three Operation Red Nose Pins

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $9.99 Fees: $1.34 Profit: $8.65

Someone bought this lot of three different Operation Red Nose pins.

Five Comics

Sale Price: $25.00 Fees: $3.10 Profit: $21.90

Someone messaged me asking if I could combine the shipping on these three auctions, which I gladly did. Not a bad profit for 5 comics.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$3,261.43

Metallica Monopoly

Bought: $5.64 Sold: $30.00 Fees: $4.34 Profit: $20.02

This was a pretty beat up copy of this game otherwise it would have sold for more. Still a decent profit, especially considering it is a Monopoly game.

DC Heroes RPG Book

Sale Price: $4.99 Fees: $1.04 Profit: $3.95

Another DC Heroes RPG Book sold. This one isn't as valuable as the others, but a sale is a sale!

Current profit off the comic auction: -$3,283.33

Scarecrow of Romney Marsh #3 Comic

Sale Price: $99.99 Fees: $11.50 Profit: $88.49

This single issue sold for $100. It is the third issue in a 3-issue run of the comic adaption of the Disney film Scarecrow of Romney Marsh, released in 1965. Not only is this a great sale, but it brings my revenue up to 25% of my investment.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$3,287.28

Defiant Newsletter

Sale Price: $4.99 Fees: $1.04 Profit: $3.95

This was a newsletter released by Defiant comics that was in among the comic books I bought. Defiant was a comic book company started by Jim Shooter in 1993 that was defunct by 1995. I figured there might be a fan of the company out there somewhere and considering how little exists from the company, someone may want this. I maybe could have asked for more, but $5 for a single piece of paper is not bad.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$3,375.77

DC Heroes RPG Book

Sale Price: $9.99 Fees: $1.55 Profit: $8.44

Another one of the DC Heroes RPG books sold. These are selling pretty quickly, which is nice!

Current profit off the comic auction: -$3,379.72

Spears Games Magnetic Fish Pond

Bought: $9.03 Sold: $44.99 Fees: $6.15 Profit: $29.81

This is a vintage British board game by the Spears Games company. You use little fishing rods with magnets on the end to collect fish. This was a bit pricey to buy, but it sold for enough to make it worthwhile.

France La Cathedrale De Rouen Postcard

Sold for: $1.99 Fees: $0.21

Another postcard sold! That is 6 this month! I really should get around to listing the 100s I have that need listing.

Commissioned Sale: Disney Pin

Sale Price: $14.99 Fees:$3.33 Profit: $11.66
My 30% cut of the Profit: $3.50

Two Disney pins of Mickey and Minnie trading pins.

Vampirella #3 Coimc

Sale Price: $125.00 Fees: $14.08 Profit: $110.92

This was a great sale. This was the most expensive Vampirella comic I picked up in the lot. Not only is a very early issue -  the third actually - it had a very low print run and is quite hard to find. By far the most expensive comic in the Creepy/Eerie/Vampirella lot, and I'm glad it sold. I'm getting closer to breaking even on that lot, which was by far the most expensive from the auction. I'm also quite close to being at 25% profit, which will be a nice threshold to get over.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$3,388.16

Atmosfear The Harbingers and The Soul Ranger

Bought: $11.28 Sold: $74.99 Fees: $9.34 Profit: $54.37

The Harbingers is a new board game made by in the Nightmare series that was released in the 1990's and The Soul Ranger was an expansion to it. I picked up Harbingers, which was still new in box, at one thrift store and picked up The Soul Ranger a month or so later at a different thrift store. I listed them together and put them up a month before Halloween hoping they would sell then, but it turns out they wouldn't sell until Boxing Day. Still a great sale. I actually have another copy of both the game and the expansion, so I'll be sure to list them together again soon.

Heroscape Thora's Vengeance Wave Expansion

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $19.99 Fees: $2.96 Profit: $17.03

My only Christmas day sale! This is an expansion for Heroscape that was included in one of the Heroscape boxes I've already sold, and so it was free for me and sold for $20, so that's not too bad.

Wonder Woman Annual #1 Comic

Sale Price: $2.99 Fees: $0.83 Profit: $2.16

Another of the Wonder Woman comics sold, this one an annual from the 1980's.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$3,499.08

Ephemera Auction Item - 4 Italian Postcards

Sold for: $7.96 Fees: $0.84

It has been a slow week for sales as Christmas approaches, but someone bought four Italian postcards, all from Siena. All four are from the same series as far as I can tell and all were unused. This huge lot of postcards that I have are slow sellers (and I've only listed about 10% of them), but it is awesome when they do sell, especially when someone buys four. Also, with this sale I am officially in the black on this auction buy, with still a ton of stuff to sell still.

The Numbers:
Initial Overall Cost: $120.36
Number of items sold in December: 2
Number of items sold overall: 12
Gross Profit for December: $9.95
Fees to eBay: $1.05
Net Profit for December: $8.90
Net Overall Profit: $1.59

Argosy All-Story Weekly

Bought: $1.98 Sold: $24.99 Fees: $3.10 Profit: $19.91
Chris' 10% Commission: $1.99

This is another of the pulp magazines, this one also a short story series. This issue is from 1921, so also quite old. Another nice profit here.

All-Story Weekly Magazine

Bought: $1.98 Sold: $24.99 Fees: $3.10 Profit: $19.91
Chris' 10% Commission: $1.99

Chris found a stack of 29 vintage magazines at VV, that worked out to $1.98 each. They were from the 1930's and 1940's mostly, and were a variety of pulp magazines. Some westerns, some railroad ones and some, like this one, of just general short stories. This issue is actually from 1916! It is over a 100 years old and in remarkable condition. It was hard to price these, so I just put a price I was happy with. If I can make about a $20 on each one, I would be looking at a profit of over $500. This was the first to sell, and hopefully the others follow quickly behind.

Two Aliens vs Predator Comics

Sale Price: $4.99 Fees: $1.04 Profit: $3.95

These are two comics that form part of the mini-series of Aliens vs Predator. I'm not sure if the comics or the movie came first, but I think it was the comics. Anyways, love that the comics are selling.

Backstreet Boys Stickers

Bought: $2.29 Sold: $10.99 Fees: $2.28 Profit: $6.42

I picked up this still sealed pack of Backstreet Boy stickers that were from 2001 at a VV in Moncton. I had no idea if they would sell, but I figured it couldn't hurt to try and I wanted to be able to say that I sold Backstreet Boy stickers. I was asking $20 but gladly took an offer. Who else can say they sold BSB stickers in 2017?

DC Heroes RPG Book

More DC Heroes RPG Books

Sale Price: $19.97 Fees: $3.63 Profit: $16.34

Sold three more of the DC Heroes RPG books this morning to a buyer in Quebec. I've now sold 7 of them in less than 24 hours, which is great. It's also nice to have one person buy multiple items as it makes shipping so much easier.

DC Heroes RPG Books

Sale Price: $109.96 Fees: $13.45 Profit: $96.51

These are four books that are used in the role-playing game DC Heroes. One of the lots I bought in the auction had about 20 new in shrink books for the DC Heroes RPG. I listed the entire lot today, including those 20 books, and someone bought these four in just a couple hours. These four books were the most expensive of the 20, so it is nice to see them sell quickly. There was a lot of other items in that lot besides just these books, so this lot will end up being quite profitable. This sale makes this lot already in the black! That brings me up to a total of 3 of the 32 lots in the black, and two on the same day! Comics did well for me today. I need to work on getting the rest of the lots listed so they can start selling! I'm making progress on an overall profit. I've netted almost $900 so far in the comics, and I have listed than 25% of the comics! I am confident in the long run profit here.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$3,538.93
