Vintage Slide Rule

Sold: $14.99 Fees: $2.77 Profit: $12.22

Grabbed this from a drawer at an estate sale I went to a few months ago. Would have paid under a dollar for this as it was part of a large lot, so not a bad flip.

Chris's 10% Commission: $2.77

Chris found these two PS3 remotes in a hanging baggie at VV, and they both worked without issue. These sold within a few days. Not a bad quick flip.

Sony M-650V VOR Microcassette Voice Recorder

Bought: $6.77 Sold: $39.99 Fees: $3.67 Profit: $29.55

Sony things always sell well. This is a micro cassette recorder, which sold for a great price. This also sold in about a week, so a fast sale is always nice.

St. Andrews Gold Ball Marker

Sold: $9.99 Fees: $1.34 Profit: $8.65

This is a golf ball marker from the St. Andrews gold course, which was in a lot of pins I picked up at auction a few months ago.

DC Direct Currents #78

Sold: $1.49 Fees: $0.60 Profit: $0.89

This is a free promotional item that was given out at Comic Book stores in the 90's to promote upcoming series. These died away with the Internet. Not a huge desire for these, but I really want to try and sell everything that was in the lots, so I'll take my 89 cents.

Current profit off the wedding comic auction: $4,664.27

Vintage Scooby Doo Finger Puppet

Bought: $2.25 Sold: $70.00 Fees: $8.45 Profit: $59.30
Chris's 10% Commission: $5.93

This is a hand puppet from 1980, which Chris found in a hanging baggie at VV along with a hand puppet of Fred Flintstone. He paid $2.25 for both, and so this sale easily covered that cost and had a great return. There were no comps on eBay, so I listed it high at $100 and turned on best offer, and was quite willing to take an offer of $70. Hopefully Fred sells just as well.

Vintage Mountain Dew Bottle

Sold: $19.99 Fees: $3.92 Profit: $16.07

This was part of a random lot of items that I picked up at auction. Hopefully it arrives in one piece - thankfully it's staying within the province so it doesn't have too far to go.

Chris's 10% Commission: $4.07

I've sold these Elfquest books a few times now. Chris found these two first editions at VV, and while pricey, it was worth buying since they sold for a nice price.

Vintage Yogi Bear Hanna-Barbera Solid State Portable Transistor Radio

Sold: $29.99 Fees: $4.78 Profit: $25.21

This is a great vintage transistor radio. It is in remarkable shape for its age and it still works. This was part of a lot of some vintage toys that I picked up at auction a couple weeks ago. This one sale paid for the whole lot.

Nintendo Gamecube Sonic the Hedgehog Gems Collection

Bought: $5.64 Sold: $19.99 Fees: $2.59 Profit: $11.76
Chris's 10% Commission: $1.18

Chris picked this up at VV a few weeks ago. He thought it sold for more, but it sold within a week, so I'll take a fast $10 without complaint.

Toshiba Canvio Connect 1TB Portable Hard Drive

Sold: $49.99 Fees: $2.81 Profit: $47.18

This is an new in box 1TB hard drive. This was part of the electronics lot I purchased at auction a couple weeks ago. I listed this a bit below market value to get it sold quickly.

My 50% Commission: $55.38

My grandfather had this DVD recorder, and it sold for a nice ROI.

3 Vintage Dinky Toys

Gregory Horror Show Trading Card Game

Electronic Gaming Monthly Magazine #63 October 1994

Sold: $9.99 Fees: $2.46 Profit: $7.53

I believe this is the last magazine that was part of the large video game lot I purchased earlier this year.

TMNT Comforter Bedspread

Bought: $9.59 Sold: $92.00 Fees: $11.28 Profit: $71.13

This is a TMNT comforter that I found at VV. Comforters are always expensive to ship as they are big and heavy, but this was too cool to leave behind. It was also for a double bed, as opposed to a twin, which is rather rare for these childhood nostalgic bedsheets. Children's beds are often twins, so it would be unusual to have them selling one for a double bed. I had it up for $125, but gladly took the offer of $92 to get this large item sold and I still made a very nice profit.

BC Rail Lapel Pin

Sold: $1.99 Fees: $0.52 Profit: $1.47

A pin from a recent large lot picked up at auction.

Bruges Board Game

Bought: $50.00 Sold: $124.99 Fees: $14.35 Profit: $60.64

This is a board game that went out of print in mid-2018. When it went out of print, Chris told me that he thought it would be a good investment since it was a good game and people would want it. I managed to find two used copies shortly after it went out print, and I paid $50 each for those. I had it listed, and the first just sold. Not really a fast seller, but took a year to double my investment, which is not too bad at all. Now to see how it takes for the 2nd copy to sell.

The Lovers Tarot Deck

Bought: $5.64 Sold: $39.99 Fees: $5.34 Profit: $29.01
Chris's 10% Commission: $2.90

Tarot decks are often worth picking up. Despite this box being very beat up, and one the cards being bent in half, it still sold for a nice profit.

Vintage Sailor Moon Stickers

Sold: $14.99 Fees: $2.07 Profit: $12.92

Another set of Sailor Moon stickers that was part of the lot of these that I picked up at the Glebe Garage Sale.

Star Wars Tales of the Jedi #1-5

Sold: $14.99 Fees: $2.07 Profit: $12.92

Another lot of Star Wars comics. These are doing relatively well, which is nice.

Current profit off the wedding comic auction: $4,642.29

Yorkshireman's Advice to his Son Mug

Bought: $1.12 Sold: $24.99 Fees: $4.21 Profit: $19.66

I have no idea why I bought this. I picked this up in early 2017, so almost three years ago. I'm glad it sold and I made a small profit, but no idea why I bought this.

Powerpuff Girls Pillowcase

Sold: $9.99 Fees: $1.55 Profit: $8.44

This came out of one of the storage lockers I picked up last year. Sales like this sometimes surprised me - I sold a single pillowcase for $10.

Lemax Sugar N Spice Peppermint Lane Post Office

Bought: $15.81 Sold: $99.99 Fees: $12.86 Profit: $71.32

I picked this up last November, and listed it around this time last year hoping it would sell for the 2018 Christmas season. It didn't sell and sat for a year but finally sold. A nice profit on this one, even if I did have to pay up for it.

Garfield Ceramic Soap Dish

Bought: $5.53 Sold: $20.00 Fees: $3.70 Profit: $10.77

I picked this up back in 2016. When I found it I thought it was too cool to leave behind and figured someone would want it. It has no markings on it, and I'm not sure if it is homemade or professionally made. I took a best offer on this because I wanted this gone. I really hope it arrives without getting damaged.

Captain Newfoundland Special Collector's Edition No 1

Sold: $199.99 Fees: $22.47 Profit: $177.52

This is a comic book that was in a lot of vintage Canadian politic ephemera. I have no idea why this was in that lot, and it wasn't even pictured in the online auction, so it was a surprise when I picked up the lot. I didn't know what it was, but Chris is a collector and fan of Canadian comics and said it was a very rare comic from Newfoundland and highly sought after. I listed it high for $200 and was going to take offers, but it sold for full price within a week. I might have been able to get more, but I'm very happy with getting $200 for something that I didn't even know I was getting in a lot.

Lanier Micro Tape Cassette Recorder

Sold: $14.99 Fees: $1.93 Profit: $13.06

Lot of 100 Canadian Flag Pins

This is the 13th set of these that have sold! I only have two more. I can't believe how well these have sold.

Vintage Skiing Patch

Sold: $9.99 Fees: $1.34 Profit: $8.65

Star Wars Omnibus

Bought: $1.12 Sold: $24.99 Fees: $3.79 Profit: $20.08
Chris's 10% Commission: $2.01

Chris found this at VV, and for some reason they only charged it as if it was a children's book. It's actually a trade paperback collecting a number of issues of this Star Wars comic series.

Red Tube Pente Game

Bought: $3.94 Sold: $34.99 Fees: $5.48 Profit: $25.57
Chris's 10% Commission: $2.56

Pente is a really old game and there are a number of versions, and normally wouldn't be worth picking up. For some reason, however, this red tube version released by Parker Brothers in the 70's is somewhat desirable.

Newfoundland Lapel Pin

Sold: $4.99 Fees: $0.83 Profit: $4.16

Toronto Lapel Pin

Sold: $4.99 Fees: $0.83 Profit: $4.16

Canadian Historical Jigsaw Puzzle

Sold: $24.99 Fees:$4.23 Profit: $20.76

I've sold this puzzle a few times now. This copy came in a lot of board games that I picked up at auction a few months ago.

5 D&D Miniature Figures

Sold: $59.99 Fees: $7.83 Profit: $52.16
Chris's 10% Commission: $5.22

These came out of a larger lot of D&D figurines that Chris picked up at VV earlier this year. I sold off two lots already, and this was the last one to sell. I ended up doing very well with these lots.

Light Music Therapy Box

Sold: $29.99 Fees: $4.50 Profit: $25.49

This is a music therapy box that lights up and changes colours along with the music it plays. I got this in the lot of stuff I purchased from an auction in Kingston where I got the impression was left over stuff from a guy who sold at a flea market. This took a while to sell, so glad to see it gone.

GO Transit 25 Years Pinback Button

 Bought: $4.16 Sold: $4.99 Fees: $0.83 Profit: $0.0

Chris picked up a bag of buttons at VV recently, and this was the first one to sell, which almost paid for the whole bag. This was actually bought by someone who works high up in the marketing department of Go Transit in Toronto, which is kind of cool.

Sony Walkman WM-F2

Sold: $99.99 Fees: $7.76 Profit: $92.33

This is an older model Walkman. It was part of a lot of electronics I picked up at auction last week. It turned on and the radio worked, but the tape wouldn't play. Likely just need to replace the belt, which is pretty common in old Walkmans. I could have taken it apart and tried to fix it and sold it for more, but this sale paid for the whole lot and left a profit, so I decided a quick sale was better than me spending the time trying to fix it. This sold within an hour, so I likely could have got even more despite it not fully working, but I'm happy with $100.

2 Lots of 25 Canadian Red Maple Leaf Lapel Pin

Sold: $39.98 Fees: $5.76 Profit: $34.22

I sold two of these bags of 25 maple leaf pins to the same buyer. These are from the same lot as all the Canadian Flag pins. I've made over $500 so far on this lot of pins, and still have a lot left to sell. This is probably going to be the best lot of pins I've ever bought.

Molson Canadian Quest For The Cup Mini Stanley Cup

Sold: $14.99 Fees: $2.91 Profit: $12.08
Chris's 10% Commission: $1.20

Chris bought something for himself in a hanging baggie at VV, and in the bag was this. He gave it to me to see if I could sell it, so it was free to me. I'll gladly take $15 for something I got for free. This was given out in Molson Canadian 24-packs in 2016, and people apparently collect them.

Atlantic Bowl 1984 Pinback Button

Sold: $9.99 Fees: $1.35 Profit: $8.64

A few weeks ago I sold a Queen's button to someone locally. After two weeks he messaged me saying he never received it, and since it was sent by lettermail I had no tracking. I just refunded him and apologized. A week later he messaged me saying he received it and wanted to pay me back, but I said not to worry about it and to enjoy the button - for $10 it was too much hassle. Today he said he wanted to buy this one but wanted me to increase the price to cover the cost of the first one. I wasn't going to argue, so he paid me back for the earlier $10 button and paid me another $10 for this one.

The Walking Dead RV Zombie

Sold: $19.99 Fees: $3.70 Profit: $16.29

This was part of a lot of collectible toys I purchased at auction a few months ago. Not the most desirable Walking Dead figure, but still an easy $20.

Flag of Flanders Vlaanderen Lapel Pin

Sold: $4.99 Fees: $0.83 Profit: $4.16
