March 2021 Recap

I sold 42 items.
I spent $253.57 on those items.
I sold those items for $1,243.13
I made a profit of $739.87

From the storage locker purchase I did with Chris:
We sold 1 thing for a profit of $21.19, meaning I made a profit of $10.59

From my various auction and storage locker pickups:
I made $282.80 profit.

From my lot of comics:
I sold 14 lots with a profit of $54.86, and I've made an overall profit of: $8,277.70

From my grandfather's estate:
I had 3 sales, and my 50% commission was: $79.68

My total profit this month was $1,167.80

March was another slow month. Sales picked up from February but still lower than this time last year. My inabiltiy to source means I am not getting many new listings up, which is hurting sales. Considering that we are in month 13 of this global pandemic, I'm glad that I still made over $1,000.

Snorlax Pokemon Card

Sold: $124.99 Fees: $18.41 Profit: $106.58

I've slowly been listing my old pokemon cards from when I was a kid. Pokemon cards are really hot right now, and I'm trying to caputalize on it. This single card sold for over $100! I am a bit worried that these buyers will be difficult or complain, but we will see. I'm hopeful that everything will work out.

Franklin Merriam-Webster English Electronic Crossword Puzzle Dictionary

Bought: $6.77 Sold: $54.99 Fees: $7.66 Profit: $40.56

I love this sale. Whenever I see one of these small handheld electronic devices, I look them up. I've never seen a crossword puzzle dictionary before, but I looked it up and saw it was a good item to grab. It took only a few weeks to sell and that is a nice ROI.

Flames Across the Border by Pierre Berton Boxed Edition

Bought: $5.64 Sold: $34.99 Fees: $6.71 Profit: $22.64

I don't normally pick up books, but if I see interesting looking ones I'll often look them up. This was a limited print run of Pierre Berton's book, and it was in great condition so I decided to give it a shot. I bought this in 2017, and so it took four years to sell and I made only a $20 profit. Maybe not worth it, but I'm happy with the sale.

20 Canadian Pacific Rockies Selected Real Photographic Post Cards

Sold: $19.99 Fees: $3.03 Profit: $16.96

This postcard set was part of one of the lots of postcards I've purchased at an auction some point in the past. $20 for a set of postcards is a great price, I'm pretty happy with this sale.

Two Cracked Magazines

Sold: $19.98 Fees: $4.50 Profit: $15.48

I've been slowly listing my Cracked collection from when I was younger. I have about a hundred issues. They seem to have decent resale value, so nice to see them start selling.

Bought: $14.68 Sold: $124.99 Fees: $16.82 Profit: $93.49
Chris's 10% Commission: $9.35

Slide log rules often sell well, but this one was particularly valuable. It sold within 5 minutes of being listed too, which is always nice. I'm happy to make almost $100 for a few minutes of work almost immediatlety.

Sold: $39.99 Fees: $5.54 Profit: $34.45

Path Pro Golf Training Aid

Bought: $9.03 Sold: $99.99 Fees: $15.37 Profit: $75.59

Found this at VV, and it was surpringlsy new in box. I opened the box to make sure it was new and complete, and so I sold it as new open box. They normally sell closer to the $125-150 price range, but considering that it was really big and heavy I knew shipping would be expensive, so I priced it lower to make up for that. It sold within a few weeks. A nice quick flip with a great ROI.

Hot Rod Action Magazine August 1982

Sold: $2.99 Fees: $1.39 Profit: $1.60

I recently sold, at auction, all the Hot Rog magazines that I had acquired. Before doing this auction, I had listed a handful on eBay. This was one of them. I decided to just leave the ones I had listed on eBay listed, as opposed to taking them down and include in the auction lot, since the work was already done.

Lot of Vintage Meccano

Bought: $11.29 Sold: $15.50 Fees: $2.57 Profit: $1.64
Chris's 10% Commission: $0.16

Chris picked up a bag of vintage Meccano for one piece in it that sells for about $50. I wasn't expecting to make a lot of this lot, but my only goal was to auciton off the remaining pieces in an attempt to recover my buy cost, which I did and so I'm happy with it. The real profit will come when I sell the piece that I bought this for.

9 Playstation 2 Video Games

Sold: $24.99 Fees: $5.43 Profit: $19.56

These came out of a storage unit I bougth a couple years ago. These were the games that weren't worth selling on their own, so I just sold as a lot.

Boy Scouts Camp Samac Pennant

Bought: $4.51 Sold: $29.99 Fees: $4.57 Profit: $20.91
Chris's 10% Commission: $2.09

I'm not a huge fan of selling pennants as they are hard to ship without rolling them up, which can crease them. Chris found a bag of three pennats for $5, so I decided to give it a shot. This was the first one to sell and easily paid for the whole bag. We will see if the other two sell.

Cayley Alberta Lapel Pin

Sold: $4.99 Fees: $1.36 Profit: $3.63

Mewtwo & Dragonite Promo Cards

Sold: $24.99 Fees: $5.02 Profit: $19.97

Pokemon cards are currently very popular and the prices are hitting all high time highs. I recently found my binder of pokemon cards from when I was a kid, and I'm slowly working on listing them on eBay. These two cards were given out as promo cards to whose who saw the first Pokemon movie on opening weekend. I, of course, did see it then, and have kept these cards since. Making $25 out of something I got for free over a decade ago isn't too bad.

25 Magic Cards

Sold: $4.99 Fees: $1.66 Profit: $3.33

These were some common cards in the stack of cards I got from VV. Not huge profit, but trying to get as much of a return on the investment as I can, so it all adds up.

The Punisher War Journal #31

Sold: $1.99 Fees: $1.27 Profit: $0.72

Current profit off the wedding comic auction: $8,245.48

Radio Shack Handheld Chess Game

Bought: $4.51 Sold: $29.99 Fees: $5.02 Profit: $20.46

This sold to someone in Australia. I don't normally ship overseas due to the shipping cost, but this buyer was fine with paying $35 shipping for a $30 item. If someone wants to pay, I'm more than glad to sell it to them. I hope they like it.

Pair of Broken Cuckoo Clock

Bought: $24.69 Sold: $59.99 Fees: $8.71 Profit: $26.59

These were two cuckoo clocks that I purchased at auction, and neither of them worked. I sold them together as not working. I hope the buyer is able to fix them, as they are pretty neat looking clocks.

SPI Strategy & Tactics #67 Game Magazine

Sold: $44.99 Fees: $6.57 Profit: $38.42

This is a games magazine that came with an original punch-and-play board game in it. I got a number of these at auction a few years ago, and while slow sellers, they do sell well. I'll gladly sit on these if it means make more money out of them.

Vancouver Winter Olympic 2010 Lapel Pin

Bought: $18.06 Sold: $74.99 Fees: $11.99 Profit: $44.94
Chris's 10% Commission: $4.49

These are thermal label printers, and are a pretty good brand. These two are older models, and when Chris bought it they only came with one power cord. I tested both and they both worked, which was great.

Straw Hat with Trapper Pins

Bought: $6.78 Sold: $34.00 Fees: $5.08 Profit: $22.14
Chris's 10% Commission: $2.21

Chris found this at VV. He bought it for the pins, and not the hat. The pins were all trapping related, so I decided to just sell as a lot. I probably could have sold the pins indvidiaully but it likely would have taken a long time to to sell them all, so I decided to just sell all as one.
