A while ago I was at my parent's condo and while taking some garbage out I noticed that someone dumped a large number of books into the garbage. I rescued them all, and listed the ones worth selling on eBay and I donated the rest. This was the first to sell. Not a huge profit, but it's not bad for something that I rescued from the trash, and I prevented all the books from ending up in the landfill.
