Another D&D Sale

Sale Price: $24.99 Fees: $3.14
Overall Lot: Bought: $146.89 Profit to date: $95.16

Two more D&D books that I sold together as lot. They are two campaigns of a three-part campaign, so it made sense to sell them together. The buyer is a return customer with this being the third D&D set he has bought from me, and he is in Ottawa so shipping is cheap. Not sure why he hasn't asked to do local pickup, he would save money, but he seems content and he keeps coming back. I'm not sure if he actually knows he is buying from the same person or if he is just searching for D&D stuff and mine happens to often be cheapest because of how cheap shipping is. Either way, always glad for a sale.

Cranium Cariboo

Bought: $5.64 Sold: $39.99 Fees: $5.00 Profit: $29.35
Chris' 5% Commission: $1.47

Sold another Cariboo game. These things are always worth picking up. They are often missing parts and are often damaged in some way from use, but I have a supply of extra parts so easy to replace missing pieces and these sell consistently and quickly for about $40.

Puzz 3D CN Tower

Bought: $9.03 Sold: $49.99 Fees: $5.99 Profit: $34.97

This was a new in box Puzz3D, which is the only way I buy puzzles now. Too much stress selling used ones. This is an interesting puzzle - it is over 5 feet tall and glows in the dark, and apparently out of print. It sat for a while, but it found that right buyer today and sold for full asking price.

Commissioned Sale: Marvel Essential Spectacular Spider-Man And Web of Spider-Man

Sale Price: $85.00 Fees:$13.45 Profit: $71.55
My 50% cut of the Profit: $35.77

These are more Marvel Essentials that Chris dumped on me when he moved to sell for him. This is a lot of all "The Spectacular Spider-Man" and "Web of Spider-Man" Essentials that have been printed. I was asking $100 but accepted an offer of $85. These take up a lot of space, so glad to see them gone and glad to make some money for Chris.

Disney Electronic Talking Mickey Says

Bought: $5.64 Sold: $35.00 Fees: $4.17 Profit: $25.19

This is a Disney Mickey toy from the 1980's. You press different parts of Mickey's body and it speaks that part, or it asks you to find body parts and you have to press it. It's a bit odd and a bit simple, but it had the box and was in really good condition and being Disney I figured it would sell. Someone actually made an offer on this, which I accepted, in the summer but then refused to pay once they released shipping would be expensive (it weighs a fair bit). So tonight it sold, and I'm glad its gone.

Captain Corndog vs. Baron Von Broccoli Action Figures

Bought: $7.90 Sold: $25.00 Fees: $3.20 Profit: $13.90

I saw this in VV and it was still new in box and I looked it up on eBay and only person was selling it for $50. I assume they were from a TV show or something. Apparently not. As far as I can tell someone created these two figures solely for the purpose of selling them. I have no idea where they would have been sold. They seem to be sold out online, but then again, who would buy these? I listed mine for $40 and figured it would never sell but if that one person did come along they would buy mine before the other one. Today I got a low ball offer so I countered with $25, which was my lowest and I came down $15 from my asking. They countered again, and I returned with $25 and they countered again and I returned again with $25. They had run out of offers. So a few minutes I got an offer of $25 from a new account with a very similar name - this guy had clearly created a new account to buy it. He clearly wanted it, and probably would have paid more, but I don't think there is anyone else out there who would buy this, so I took it. Once he paid, his Paypal name is a website, which I checked out and it is a gag gift website. I guess he is planning on reselling it? Overall a very weird sale on a very weird item that I probably should not have bought in the first place.

Flipping Experiment #1: Comic and Anime statues, comics and posters - Month #7

November 27 - Fathom #9 Platinum Holofoil Edition Comic
Sold for: $9.99 Fees: $2.41

Last Saturday Chris and I spent the day sorting all the comics from the locker. We went through them, decided which ones were worth listing on their own and creating lots for the rest. We then photographed them all, and then packaged them all up. It took us about 10 hours, and was a ton of work, but they are all done and can just sell now. I haven't managed to get all the listings up yet - it takes time - but I have posted around 20 or so of the comics/lots and this was the first to sell. Anytime a comic sells for over $1 is a good comic, and so $10 is great. This is a special edition holofoil cover. These were quite the rage in the 90s and variant covers became so popular and prevalent that there was a comic bubble and it burst in the mid-90s and many comics that people were buying purely for speculation were worth nothing. It turned out that almost no one was buying them to keep, but almost everyone was buying them hoping they could sell them for a large profit in 10 years. The collector of these comics that we got in this lot was clearly a speculator who was buying in the mid to late 90s. So many of his comics still had price stickers on them and we paid 4 to 5 times what the comics are worth now. A lot are worth maybe $1 or $2. Some kept some value, like this one, but he likely spend $20 or $25 on this when he bought it. Chris and I will make some good profit on these comics once they sell, but no where near what the original owner paid for them.

The Numbers:
Initial Cost: $2,000
Number of items sold in November: 6
Number of items sold overall: 33
Gross Profit for November: $255.17
Fees to eBay: $38.80
Net Profit for November: $216.37
Net Overall Profit: $50.21

Chris and I have recouped our initial investment, and each made a profit of $25.10

November 7 - Epoch Vampire Savior Morrigan
Sold for: $222.22 Fees: $31.93

Finally we sold one of the bigger statues with a good price. This one has some serious water damage to the box but the figure was in good shape and had never been displayed. Also, with this sale we have finally recouped our full initial investment and have started to make a profit on the lot. With still 50 statue and figures to sell, and all the comics and posters, I am still confident this lot will end up bringing in a good profit.

November 18 - Four Comics
Sold for: $22.96 Fees: $4.46

A guy messaged me asking if I could combine shipping if he bought a number of comics from me, and I said of course. He bought four comics and I made a new listing with all four as opposed to having him buy the four separate since we saved on fees (1 final sale fee versus 4). Most of these comics were a few dollars, but one was $15 so that helped with the sale. We have so many comics from this lot and most of them are low dollar amounts, so any time we can get rid of more than one at once I am happy.

Play-Doh Transformers

Bought: $4.51 Sold: $35.00 Fees: $4.17 Profit: $26.32
Chris' 5% Commission: $1.31

This is a Play-Doh set that I've sold a number of times and it always does well. This set was almost complete - just missing one of the card molds. I probably could have got more for it, as I accepted a best offer less than 24 hours after posting it, but I wanted it sold and $25 is always nice. Chris continues to do well with his finds and getting his commission.

Super Scrabble

Bought: $7.90 Sold: $19.99 Fees: $2.96 Profit: $9.13
Chris' 5% Commission: $0.46

Chris picked up this copy of Super Scrabble that was still new in box at VV. It was rather expensive for a board game, but I figured it had to sell for more than $8. Part of the issue with not being there to source myself is that when I quickly looked this up on eBay from the photo Chris sent me - he sends me photos when shopping for approval - I saw that it sold for $40-50, but I didn't realize there is two versions of Super Scrabble and the other version is the more desirable one. I'm not sure I would have picked this one up had I realized it was only worth $20. Still, I posted it today and it sold in a few hours - it's not going very far so likely was the cheapest option for that person as opposed to someone buying it up quickly because it was priced too cheaply. Still a quick sale is always nice, and even better when I'm making something and not losing money.

View Master Reels

Bought: $3.38 Sold: $25.00 Fees: $3.49 Profit: $18.13
Chris' 5% Commission: $0.91

These are a set of View Master reels that Chris found at VV. They were in a hanging baggie for a few bucks, it was an obvious buy. These tend to sell quickly and for about $1 each. Some are more rare than others, but none in this lot were particularly rare, but it was easy to list and easy to store and made almost $20.

Thomas & Friends Trackmaster TIDMOUTH SHEDS

Bought: $40.00 Sold: $124.99 Fees: $12.50 Profit: $72.49

This is a Thomas and Friends train set released by Mattel in 2010. What is interesting about the Thomas and Friends toy sets is that the license to make toys under that name have changed hands numerous times, so most of the sets are out of print (as they lost the license to the brand) and some are more popular than others. For some reason the Mattel ones are quite popular and sell quite well. I found the listing for this on Kijiji and I knew this set sells easily for $100+ so it was an obvious buy, and it had a lot of watchers and finally sold. If I found any Thomas and Friends cheap in a thrift store or garage sale, I'd buy. If buying off Kijiji or they want real money (aka more than $10) I'd see which set and company it was because they don't all sell equally.

Hard work pays off

When I started this hobby just over a year ago I set a goal for myself to raise enough money to buy Robin an engagement ring. I knew how much I wanted to spend and I wanted to do it in a year, and I hit my goal. Finally got to give it to her last night and she said yes. This hobby is great in that it provides not only something fun and enjoyable but a sizable side income that can be used for large purchases, and it helps to have a goal in mind. Now that the ring is bought, the next goal will be saving for the wedding. To think that I started with a $500 "loan" from myself which I repaid in the first two months, following which the hobby/business has been completely self-sustaining and while I re-invest a fair amount back into the hobby/business, it is nice to know that it can a sizeable rainy day fund, and that I can take that money out and spend it not on the business and it will continue to grow and make more money. Hopefully it only continue to grow!

Playmobil 4325 School Gym

Sale Price: $49.99 Fees: $5.45
Overall Lot: Bought: $130.00 Profit to date: $23.18

This was one of the Playmobil sets I picked up in the lot from the guy off of Kijiji. I finally broke even on the lot with this sale, and I have four more sets to sell - two of which are the big money earners - so hopefully I'll see an even better return on my money eventually. This was a big purchase, so glad to see the money back in the black.

DC The Flash #246

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $4.99 Fees: $0.90 Profit: $4.09

This is another comic I got as part of the lot of stuff from the church rummage sale. It was in somewhat rough condition but old enough that there is still people who want it. $5 isn't a lot, but it is for a comic. Anytime a comic is worth more than $1 is a good value for a comic. When I got 20 of them for free, these five dollars will add up.

Up The Creek Board Game

Bought: $2.25 Sold: $30.00 Fees: $4.05 Profit: $23.70

This is a vintage board game from the 1970s in which players try and build the best Indian war canoes. It is perhaps a bit racist, or dated, nowadays and the board game has changed titles and themes over the years. It was cheap and complete and I figured someone may want the original version. It sat for quite some time - over 6 months - but it sold today and hopefully someone is happy with it and doesn't mind that it may be a bit racist.

Nerf N-strike Stampede ECS PARTS

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $29.99 Fees: $4.07 Profit: $25.92
Chris' 5% Commission: $1.30

The Nerf gun that Chris picked up for me earlier this month had a bag of parts attached to it and only some of the parts were for that specific gun, which sold last week. Included in it were these five parts which are all part to another well selling gun. I listed them together as a lot and they sold. Nice unexpected profit, and I'm glad how fast they sold too.

Tomy Thomas Tank Engine & Friends Big Loader

Bought: $14.68 Sold: $44.99 Fees: $5.17 Profit: $25.14

I picked this up last year knowing that Thomas the Tank Engine stuff sells well, but for some reason this sat for way longer than I thought it would. It finally sold today to some woman who was buying it for her son for Christmas. She sent me way too many messages with way too much detail before buying, which set off a lot of red flags and I'm nervous I'm going to get a complaint of some kind, but I wanted it sold and hopefully she is just new to eBay and not trying to scam me somehow. I can't imagine there are people out there who feel the need to scam someone on a $40 toy.

Dungeon & Dragon Magazines

Sale Price: $40.00 Fees: $4.66
Overall Lot: Bought: $146.89 Profit to date: $73.31

This was a lot of a number of Dragon and Dungeon magazines. They are two separate magazines that were published on the theme of Dungeons & Dragons. I got these in the lot I bought at VV, and I wasn't sure if they would sell, and after doing some research while some issues do sell, overall these aren't really worth that much and I think I would pass on these in the future. I threw them all up in a lot and asked $50, but accepted an offer of $40. The buyer is in Ottawa, but paid shipping. At least he will get them very quickly. This lot continues to make good money and I have a number of books still to sell.

The Wonderful Worlds of Walt Disney 4 Book Box Set

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $29.99 Fees: $2.70 Profit: $27.79

I picked this up at a church rummage sale this summer along with a number of other items, and have made back all my investment so this was free and sold well, The buyer was local and picked it up, saving on shipping. It is a cute vintage Disney book set. I was surprised it doesn't sell for more, but it is quite cute and Disney stuff always sells.

Sony SPORTS CFS-930 Boombox

Bought: $11.29 Sold: $60.00 Fees: $4.65 Profit: $44.06

This is a Sony boombox from the 1980s-1990s. It works well and is in pretty good shape. It had a few cosmetic issues, but is that nice icon yellow and the handle can shift from the top to the side. It looks like a pretty durable machine and it came with the A/C adapter which is always a nice addition. I was asking $75 and had this up since the spring. In the last few weeks I've had a number of offers, all from BC but none accepted my lowest of $60. Today I got an offer of $55 from Saskatchewan, which I countered with $60 and they accepted. In the last few weeks I've sold a few things to Saskatchewan, and before then I hadn't sold any - a bit random.

Disney Princess Toy

Bought: $7.90 Sold: $29.99 Fees: $4.19 Profit: $17.90

This is a Disney Princess Jasmine toy figure set. It looks new in the box. I bought this almost a year ago, and I actually forgot I had it until it sold today. I don't know why this took so long to sell, I would have thought NIB Disney stuff would move quickly. It wasn't even priced that highly. Still, a good sale and always nice to move older inventory,

Sunday, November 20, 2016

Cariboo Island

Bought: $6.32 Sold: $29.99 Fees: $4.23 Profit: $19.44

This has sat in my store for a while, and I kept lowering the price little by little and it finally sold. I don't know why this game isn't as popular as Cariboo, but for some reason people much prefer it. Part of the problem with selling Cariboo and Cariboo Island is that both games are heavy, and so shipping gets expensive. This one is staying in Ontario, which keeps shipping down and makes it more affordable for the buyer.

Play-Doh Sweet Shoppe

Bought: $5.64 Sold: $25.00 Fees: $3.20 Profit: $16.16

This is a Play-Doh set I picked up months ago. While it seemed to sell well, I didn't account for how large and heavy it was (almost 2 kg) so shipping was quite expensive and didn't make it really worthwhile. Someone made me a low offer, but I wanted it gone so I accepted. I still made a profit, so not the end of the world, but always something to keep in mind - if the selling value is under $50, someone is unlikely going to want to spend $20-30 more to ship it.

HP Toner

Bought: $4.51 Sold: $59.99 Fees: $4.44 Profit: $51.04

This is an unused still new in box HP Laserjet toner cartridge. There is a lot of money in these, and a lot of flippers sell toner and ink. This was the first time I'd seen one in VV, and I only bought it since it was still new in box. I was actually hoping it would fit my eBay label printer, but sadly I need an 83A not an 85A. Regardless, it has a very good ROI. Interestingly, the person who bought this not only had an eBay name that had "tonercatridge" in it but he messaged me asking me not to include any packing slips since it was a gift for a client - which is clearly a lie - he is drop shipping this item. Drop shipping is where you sell something not in your possession, but available for purchase for you, and once you sell the item you go and purchase it from your supplier and have the supplier ship directly to the buyer. It is a form of flipping, and some people like it since it requires you to have no storage and you don't even need to buy a product until it is already sold. The clear downside is that you are always relying on someone else to ship on time, to package it correctly, to ship the correct product and you've never had a chance to inspect the item beforehand. Overall, it is generally considered quick risky and not something I'd ever want to get into. I'm curious as to where he "sold" his product - probably on his own site - and I wonder how much markup he made on this.

Nerf N-Strike VULCAN EBF-25

Bought: $15.81 Sold: $50.00 Fees: $7.01 Profit: $27.18
Chris' 5% Commission: $1.36

This is a giant Nerf gun that can autmoatically shoot off a whole strip of their foam darts. It is one of the more expensive Nerf guns, though the sheer size makes it expensive to ship. I put a lower than average price on it to try and get it to sell since it takes up so much space. It still has a decent ROI. I picked one of these up earlier this year and sold it locally, but it sat for a long time and I sold it for less so decided to try eBay this time. To be fair, this gun was complete, the one I sold in the summer was missing a few pieces. Still, not a terrible flip, and Nerf is often a good buy. Hopefully this makes it to Saskatchewan without issue.

Play Doh Mega Fun Factory 50th Birthday Conveyor Belt

Bought: $2.50 Sold: $49.99 Fees: $6.25 Profit: $41.24

One of the benefits of going to court out of town is the chance to stop at thrift stores I don't normally shop at. Next to the Smith Falls Court (which is in a strip mall and actually above a bowling alley) is right next to a thrift store, which makes it easy to stop in after court. I found this Play Doh Mega Fun Factory converyor belt for only $2.50 and it was nearly complete (only missing one of the wheels), and it sold pretty quickly for $50! These are pretty consistent sellers for me, and easy to identify.

Playmobil 5106 City Coach Bus

Bought: $28.24 Sold: $99.99 Fees: $10.96 Profit: $60.79

This is a New In Box (NIB) Playmobil set of a coach bus. I got this at Winners for only $25 and saw that I could flip it for $100 on eBay and it sold in less than a week. I am going to keep an eye out more often for NIB Playmobil sets at Winners. It makes sense that they would be valuable. They are often years old, and they are often quite expensive when they are released, so being able to buy at a discount and then sell into a market that has significantly lost supply means profit. The larger the playset the better the potential ROI appears to be.

Sony Walkman D-NS921F

Bought: $4.55 Sold: $44.00 Fees: $3.23 Profit: $36.22
Chris' 5% Commission: $1.81

This is a Sony Discman that Chris picked up at VV. It is a sports model that allows one to run without skipping, and has a hand strap. It also plays Mp3. It was a relatively high end model when it came out, and some people are quite unwilling to give up CDs, and so these continue to sell well.

Random Playmobil pieces

Bought: $6.77 Sold: $20.00 Fees: $2.84 Profit: $10.39

I saw this bag of random Playmobil castle pieces at VV and figured for $6 I could make some money on it, even if it wasn't a complete set. I was hoping to make a bit more, but it sold within a few weeks and it was a decent ROI for a random lot of pieces. It was a quick flip for a few bucks - can't complain.

Matchitecture Toronto CN Tower

Bought: $4.51 Sold: $35.99 Fees: $4.88 Profit: $26.60

This is a new in box set where you use matchsticks to build the CN Tower. I would normally never buy this, except that it was still sealed. These sets sell normally between $30 and 50. I had it listed ofr $50, but I got an offer for $36 and was still going to make a good ROI, and plus it was my first sale to Newfoundland, so I couldn't say no.

Two Comics

Bought: $00.00 Sold: $19.99 Fees: $2.25 Profit: $17.74
Sale Price: $14.99 Fees:$3.68 Profit: $11.31  My 30% cut of the Profit: $3.39

One guy bought two comics off me: The Defenders #28 (1975) and Journey Into Mystery #115 (1965). The Defenders I got among a number of other comics at a church rummage sale, and I've long paid off my investment into everything, so that one was pure profit. The Journey Into Mystery was one I was selling on commission for my friend Hayley, so I only get 30% of that sale. Both are somewhat important issues. The Defender issue is the first appearance of Starhawk, and Journey is the 2nd appearance of Loki. Neither comic are in great shape, but both are old enough and key issues enough to be worth something. Anytime a comic is worth more than $1 is a good day, and to sell two $10+ comics in one day is great.

Hot Wheels Lot

Bought: $12.64 Sold: $39.99 Fees: $5.56 Profit: $21.79

This was a lot of Hot Wheel sets that I sold. I picked this up at VV, and it sat in my basement for months. It took me forever to get the incentive to list this, and it sat for months but finally sold. This was my last Hot Wheels item on eBay, and will likely be my last. They are quite annoying to list, are almost always missing pieces when used, and don't sell all that. I may pick these up if I find them NIB, but used I'm going to pass.

Monday, November 14, 2016

Play-Doh Cookie Monster

Bought: $4.51 Sold: $35.00 Fees: $3.15 Profit: $27.34

This is the Cookie Monster piece from the Play-Doh set. This set is one of the more expensive ones and as such the Cookie Monster by itself sells quite well. I had it up for $50, but I got an offer for $35 and the woman was in Ottawa and was willing to pick it up, so I accepted. She sent her husband to my office today to buy it.

Donald Duck Hockey Jersey

Bought: $6.77 Sold: $35.00 Fees: $4.48 Profit: $23.75

Picked up this vintage Donald Duck hockey jersey at VV. I figured it was a safe bet, as Disney stuff is always collectable. I listed it for $50, but took a best offer of $35 because it has been a slow month and I wanted to move stuff.

Sunday, November 13, 2016

SolarQuest Board Game

Bought: $3.15 Sold: $29.99 Fees: $3.72 Profit: $23.12

This was a vintage board game that I picked up last fall. I didn't expect much of it: it is made by Golden (not a huge board game company) and is clearly a Monopoly knock-off set in space. It has sat for over a year, but finally sold. It really goes to show that eventually everything sells.

Mattel Tiny Swingy

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $39.99 Fees: $4.80 Profit: $35.19

I picked this up at the church bazaar at my parents cottage this summer. It was one of the handful of things I grabbed, and since I paid a donation for everything and already made it back with a previous sale, this technically cost me nothing. It is a vintage disco-era doll that dances when you turn her on. The box was pretty beat up, but the fact that it still had the box was impressive. There were none of these on eBay, so I just made up a price, and since it was free it was a nice ROI.

WoW RPG Book

Bought: $5.87 Sold: $29.99 Fees: $3.89 Profit: $20.23

The same guy who bought the WoW RPG book yesterday bought this one today. I would have shipped them together but I had already mailed the first one when he bought this one - also he never messaged to ask. A bit odd, but nonetheless, two of these sold in two days is always nice. Only have one more of these books left.

Nickelodeon Talk Blaster

Bought: $11.30 Sold: $34.99 Fees: $3.10 Profit: $20.59

This is a Nickelodeon Talk Blaster - a telephone - released in conjunction with the famously nostalgic Nickelodeon radio. Both are straight out of the 90s and both are quite collectible. The radio much more so than the phone it seems. I've had this for over a year, and despite number of watchers, and lots of low offers, it sat. It finally sold yesterday for full price. It was a bit pricey to have paid initially to have sat this long. I'd probably only buy this again if I found really cheap. The radio, on the other hand, would be worth picking up for sure.

WoW RPG Book

Bought: $5.87 Sold: $14.99 Fees: $2.54 Profit: $6.58

Another one of these books has sold. I only have two more to sell. These have been slow, but consistent sellers. This one didn't have as big of an ROI as some of the others, but it's still money and got this book out of storage.

Toronto Blue Jays Sheets

Bought: $6.76 Sold: $20.00 Fees: $2.80 Profit: $10.44

I picked up these Toronto Blue Jays 1992 World Series Champions sheets from VV about a month ago, when the Jays were still in the World Series and I was hoping that if they won this would be a cool vintage souvenir someone may want to spend money on. They didn't make it all the way this year, but someone made an offer and I was glad to see them gone.

Dungeon and Dragon Book

Sale Price: $7.49 Fees: $1.80
Overall Lot: Bought: $146.89 Profit to date: $37.97

Another of the D&D book from the giant lot I got at VV has sold. I've made back my investment, so everything at this point is profit and I still have over 10 books to sell. This one was one of the cheaper ones, and I wouldn't have picked it up except that I got a deal on the whole lot. It was bought by someone in Carleton Place, so it isn't going very far.

Paydirt

Bought: $1.12 Sold: $40.00 Fees: $4.55 Profit: $34.33

This is a vintage Sports Illustrated football board game. Chris found this on the card as they were restocking at VV and for some reason it was $1! I have never seen a board game that cheap at VV. It sat all summer but now with football back it has sold! A nice sale with good ROI.

Masterpiece board game

Bought: $2.26 Sold: $15.00 Fees: $2.84 Profit: $9.90

This is a vintage Parker Brother's game. I bought it to try and sell how well it sells since I see it somewhat frequently, but it took far too long and I took a low best offer. I'm glad it's sold and gone, and not something I would buy again.

Sony Walkman WM-FX101

Bought: $4.51 Sold: $14.99 Fees: $1.54 Profit: $8.94

This is one of the first walkmans I picked up to sell, and before I realized that different models are more desirable than others. This is one of the earliest walkmans and is quite basic. It was one of the first models to include a radio in it. It is nothing fancy and very basic. I was actually concerned that it would never sell, so I was shocked yesterday when it finally did. It is off to Toronto so it is staying close to home.

Avalon Hill Game of France 1940

Bought: $2.36 Sold: $34.99 Fees: $4.18 Profit: $28.45
Chris' 5% Commission: $1.42

Yet another Avalon Hill game that Chris picked up in Kingston. I wish I could find Avalon Hill games for $2 more often. These continue to be my favorite games to find and sell, and they sell quite consistently. I think I may actually have no more in inventory, so hopefully I find some in the wild soon.

Many Roads to Murder CED

Bought: $4.51 Sold: $14.99 Fees: $2.35 Profit: $8.13

This is a CED (Capacitance Electronic Disc) which was a precursor to the DVD. It is large (the size of a vinyl) and would be inserted into a VCR-type player. These have collectors but are not overly popular. I normally would never buy these, and actually haven't seen them recently, but Chris picked this up last year. It is a murder mystery game that you play along with. I'm glad it finally sold, but there are only very CEDs that are worth money.

Commissioned Sale: Batman #183 Comic

Sale Price: $20.00 Fees:$4.28 Profit: $15.72
My 30% cut of the Profit: $4.72

This summer I was at my friend Hayley's cottage when I noticed a box of comics in her garage. Not one to pass up taking a look at comics, I went through them. They were old, from the 1960s, and had they been in better condition they would have been worth $100s, but they were all ripped and had seen much use. I told her that I could probably sell 11 of them. This was the first one to sell. It is an issue of Batman from the 1960s, and it is the second appearance of Poison Ivy. A pretty nice comic.

Warhamer Wood Elves

Bought: $5.64 Sold: $40.00 Fees: $4.55 Profit: $29.81
Chris' 5% Commission: $1.49

This is a book that is used in the game Warhammer. It is hard bound and apparently out of print. Chris picked it up and it sold in just over a month. Game books are not always great sellers. The store had a number of Warhammer books and this was the only one I grabbed because it was the only I could make enough profit to justify. It would be one thing if could get them cheaper, but when paying $5 at VV I try to make sure there is reasonable ROI.
