When I started this hobby just over a year ago I set a goal for myself to raise enough money to buy Robin an engagement ring. I knew how much I wanted to spend and I wanted to do it in a year, and I hit my goal. Finally got to give it to her last night and she said yes. This hobby is great in that it provides not only something fun and enjoyable but a sizable side income that can be used for large purchases, and it helps to have a goal in mind. Now that the ring is bought, the next goal will be saving for the wedding. To think that I started with a $500 "loan" from myself which I repaid in the first two months, following which the hobby/business has been completely self-sustaining and while I re-invest a fair amount back into the hobby/business, it is nice to know that it can a sizeable rainy day fund, and that I can take that money out and spend it not on the business and it will continue to grow and make more money. Hopefully it only continue to grow!
