Starbucks Mugs are apparently collectible - who knew?

I've heard and read a number of times that Starbucks are collectible and worth picking up. Since I've started I've come across a few, and I've picked them up and listed them on eBay, and so far none have sold, and they are listed for about $10-20. Not amazing, but not terrible if you can get them for a buck. I came across this one and was floored when I looked it up, I couldn't believe it. I quickly bought it and when I got home I finally did some research - which I probably should have done in the first place. Now while all Starbucks mugs have some collectiblility, there is a specific line of mugs that people really want, and this is one of them. They are sepia-toned and each feature a different city on them. These were released in 2009 and was the first series of "collectible" mugs Starbucks released. I am assuming a combination of not a lot of people buying them originally, combined with the fact that they were only sold in certain areas, made these scarce to start with, and now people are trying to get all the cities. Some cities go for even more than this, but I was more than glad to see this sell. Now that I know which Starbucks mugs sell, I will be on the hunt for these ones.
