Flipping Experiment #1: Comic and Anime statues, comics and posters - Month #18

October 24th - 2 Art books and lots of comics

Sold for: $119.99 Fees: $16.19

So for a third day in a row this buyer messaged asking if he could buy a number of items and get a bit of a discount, this time for lots of comics and two art books that have been sitting for 18 months. I gave him $30 off and he bought them all. This guy has now paid us over $500 in 3 days. I like repeat customers!

The Numbers:
Initial Cost: $2,000
Number of items sold in October: 17
Number of items sold overall: 134
Gross Profit for October: $629.93
Fees to eBay: $97.92
Net Profit for October: $532.01
Net Overall Profit: $4116.58

Chris and I have recouped our initial investment, and each made a profit of $2,058.29

October 3rd - Battle Chasers TPB

Sold for: $24.99 Fees: $4.19

This is one of the trade paperbacks. It is a series I've never heard of. That being said, $25 for a trade is a good price, I'll take it.

October 11th - Shi Poster
Sold for: $49.99 Fees: $9.47

This was one of the largest posters we had - over 6 feet tall. It is of Shi - a character in an independent comic. While she has a fan base it is not particularly large, so I did not expect this to be a fast sale. I'm glad it finally sold, and got a good price for it.

October 12 - Vampirella Poster
Sold for: $34.99 Fees: $7.02

Another poster sale! Two in two days! This one is of Vampirella.

October 22nd - Four Issues of Tarot Witch of the Black Rose
Sold for: $99.99 Fees: $16.95

Someone bought these two auctions, each was for one issue of Tarot Witch with two different covers (the normal cover and the NSFW cover). He paid $50 per lot, which is a great price. Glad to see us making good money off these comics, even if it did take 18 months to make that month, it was well worth sitting and waiting for.

October 23rd - Six Posters

Sold for: $99.99 Fees: $15.43

The buyer who bought the four comics yesterday messaged and asked if he bought these 6 posters and a statue if I would cut him a break on the price. The 6 posters and the statue were listed for a total of $420, so I offered it to him for $300 ($100 for the posters and $200 for the statue). All 7 items were from this lot, and I've so long ago made my profit that I was just glad to sell 7 things and the prices I put for all these were largely just guesses, so $300 is still a great price!

October 23rd - Witchblade Statue
Sold for: $199.99 Fees: $28.67

This is the statue he bought. So he's paid me $400 in the last two days! With this sale Chris and I have both now officially doubled our return on our initial investment - we both originally paid $1000, and we have both made back that initially investment and made $2,000 each since then! That means that we have sold over $6,000 worth of stuff from this lot in just 18 months, and there is still lots to sell! I think this purchase can officially be deemed a success.
