Commissioned Sale: McDonald's Pin

Sale Price: $25.00 Fees:$4.30 Profit: $20.70
My 30% cut of the Profit: $6.21

This is a McDonald's pin with the 101 Dalmatians on it.

Secret Hearts #152 DC Romance Comic

Bought: $0.84 Sold: $4.99 Fees: $1.04 Profit: $3.11

This comic is not from the comic auction but rather one I picked up along with a number of other vintage romance comics at the Pembroke VV. These comics were all in very rough well-read condition, but these are often hard to find and I figured I could still make some profit on them.

Some Alien Comics

Sale Price: $29.97 Fees: $4.66 Profit: $25.31

Someone bought three lots of Aliens comics, so that's a nice sale.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$2,105.41

Someone bought these three comics, all Marvel titles but otherwise unrelated.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$2,130.72

Call of Duty Lanyard

Two Postcards from Montmartre, Paris

Sold for: $3.98 Fees: $0.42

Someone bought these two postcards, both drawings of Montmartre in Paris.

Virgin Queen Board Game

Bought: $4.51 Sold: $74.99 Fees: $9.24 Profit: $61.24

This is a relatively new war game, though it is now out of print. It has 100s of tokens, and sadly 6 were missing. I contacted the company and I could have bought them but it would have cost me $20 USD plus shipping, and so I decided it wasn't worth it and just sold it as is without the 6 tokens. That being said, I still got a great profit on it.

Canada Jet Pin

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $9.99 Fees: $1.34 Profit: $8.65

I can't believe how many pins have sold in the last 24 hours. This one is a Canadian jet of some sort, but surprisingly sold to an American.

Five Vampirella Comics

Sale Price: $239.98 Fees: $26.06 Profit: $213.92

Someone bought five issues of Vampirella, and these were the five most expensive issues I've listed so far, so nice to see them all sell at once and finally have them sold. With this sale I have officially recovered over 50% of my investment back, and in just three months! I still have over 50% of the comics to list, so I am still hopeful that I will do a lot better than just making back my investment, but I am well on my way.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$2,140.48

Concordia Pin

Sold for: $9.99 Fees: $1.55

This was another pin from the Cornwall auction, and the second University pin to sell today.

King of Tokyo Power Up Expansion

Bought: $19.19 Sold: $49.99 Fees: $6.47 Profit: $24.33
Chris' 10% Commission: $2.43

This is an out of print expansion to the board game King of Tokyo. Chris found two of these on clearance at Toys R Us in the summer and picked them up. I've now sold both of them for a decent profit. Considering I was paying retail, and not thrift store price, it's not a bad return.

Eerie #13 Comic

Sale Price: $9.99 Fees: $2.22 Profit: $7.77

Another Eerie sale. These continue to sell which is awesome.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$2,354.40

Brock University Pin

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $9.99 Fees: $1.34 Profit: $8.65

I was surprised to see that no one else was selling a Brock University pin, so I put it a bit higher than my normal $5 price for a pin and it sold to someone in London, which is not a real big shock.

Vintage OC Transpo CHEO Button

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $4.99 Fees: $0.83 Profit: $4.16

Chris' 10% Commission: $0.41

This was bought by someone whose name included OC Transpo, so I am assuming that they either work there or are a big fan.

RCMP Musical Ride Pin

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $4.99 Fees: $0.83 Profit: $4.16

A pin featuring the RCMP musical ride.

Commissioned Sale: Two Disney Pins

Sale Price: $17.48 Fees:$4.37 Profit: $13.11
My 30% cut of the Profit: $3.93

Someone bought these two Disney pins - I am continually shocked how many of these pins there were. I've sold 100s and I still have 100s listed. I wonder if I'll ever sell them all.

The New Comprehensive A - Z Crossword Dictionary

Sold for: $4.99 Fees: $1.88

This was among the books I got in the Cornwall auction. Not a huge profit, but any more money I can squeeze out of that auction is always nice.

Flipping Experiment #1: Comic and Anime statues, comics and posters - Month #21

January 24th - Kaiyodo Mon-Sieur Bome Collection vol. 5

Two figure sales in two days! Not bad. Not a huge profit on this one, but I'm glad to see this stuff continue to sell and keep making money off of it.

The Numbers:
Initial Cost: $2,000
Number of items sold in January: 2
Number of items sold overall: 148

January 23rd - Dead or Alive Figure
Sold for: $80.00 Fees: $13.68

The first sale of 2018 from this lot, and it's a figure with a nice return. We've been selling these for so long, almost two years now, I am shocked that there are still some left, but glad to keep making money off this.

Radio Flyer Red Wagon Pin

Sold for: $4.99 Fees: $1.04

This is another pin from the Cornwall auction.

Tuesday, January 23, 2018

Hockey Eastern Ontario Pin

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $4.99 Fees: $0.83 Profit: $4.16

This is a minor league hockey organization based out of Ottawa. It sold within a few hours of listing, which is always nice.

Ontario Forestry Association Pin

Sold for: $4.99 Fees: $1.04

Another pin from the auction lot.

Monday, January 22, 2018

Rotary Club Pin

Sold for: $4.99 Fees: $1.04

This pin came from the Cornwall auction.

Ronald McDonald Watch Face

Bought: $3.15 Sold: $19.99 Fees: $3.28 Profit: $13.56
Chris' 10% Commission: $1.36

This is a watch face, with no band, of Ronald McDonald. It has a maple leaf on it as well so I'm assuming it is Canadian? Chris found it in a hanging baggie and thought I could make a profit on it. I had someone interested in this item from Australia months ago, so I enabled shipping to Australia but then he never bought it, but I forgot to take off that option so today a different buyer in Australia bought it. I hope it arrives safely...

Minecraft Figures

Bought: $11.29 Sold: $30.00 Fees: $0.00 Profit: $18.71
Chris' 10% Commission: $1.87

This is a lot of Minecraft figures that Chris picked up at VV. I was hoping they would sell for more, but none of them were particularly valuable and eBay was flooded with them, so I decided to try Facebook Marketplace and they sold in less than 24 hours. I'm just glad to move this quickly and make a bit of profit. A mother came with her daughter, who paid me herself for them. I'm glad some little girl is going to get some fun out of these.

An Iron Manual

Sold for: $4.99 Fees: $0.78

This is a vintage manual for a General Electric Iron. I cannot believe this sold. Someone, somewhere, decided that they could not possibly figure out how to use an iron without the manual and just needed to buy it. I can't stress enough how ridiculous it is that someone bought a manual on how to use an iron...

The Numbers:
Initial Overall Cost: $120.36
Number of items sold in January: 3
Number of items sold overall: 16
Gross Profit for January: $16.97
Fees to eBay: $2.43
Net Profit for January: $14.54
Net Overall Profit: $17.91

Reform Party of Canada Lapel Pin

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $9.99 Fees: $1.34 Profit: $8.65

This is a pin of the logo of the now defunct Reform party of Canada. This sold to someone in the States, which is a bit odd, but I'm not complaining about a sale!

RCMP K Division Pin

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $9.99 Fees: $1.55 Profit: $8.44

This is a great pin for the RCMP K Division, which is their name for the province of Alberta.

Polka Dot Door Button

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $4.99 Fees: $0.83 Profit: $4.16
Chris' 10% Commission: $0.42

This is a great vintage button from the Polka Dot Door. I was shocked that this sold to an American, considering it is a Canadian show.

Rizzoli & Isles TV Series DVD

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $9.99 Fees: $1.55 Profit: $8.44

My parents still buy TV shows they watch on DVD, and occasionally they lose track of which ones they've already bought and end up with two copies of some. This was one of those, and they didn't realize until after the return period so they gave it to me to sell. Not a huge profit, but it's free money.

Lots of Alien Comics

Sale Price: $52.47 Fees: $6.85 Profit: $45.62

Someone bought three lots of Aliens comics, totally just over $50. One of the lots I bought was just a whole short box of Aliens comics. I paid $43 for that box, and with this sale this lot is now in the black. With this sale 8 of the 32 lots are in the black. I'm slowly making progress!

Current profit off the comic auction: -$2,362.17

Hardy Boys #1 Comic

Sale Price: $9.99 Fees: $1.55 Profit: $8.44

This is a comic of the Hardy Boys Saturday morning comic from 1970.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$2,407.79

Short Stories Magazine

Bought: $1.98 Sold: $24.99 Fees: $3.10 Profit: $19.91
Chris's 10% Commission: $1.99

Another one of the pulp short story magazines sold today - two in one day isn't bad!

Silver Surfer Annual & Mighty Thor Annual

Sale Price: $3.98 Fees: $1.66 Profit: $2.32

Someone bought these two annuals from 1989. All the annuals that year had part of the same crossover story in called Atlantis Attacks. It's a pretty terrible crossover, but I'm assuming why this person bought both these at the same time as they are two-parts of that crossover.

Current profit off the comic auction: -$2,416.23

Top-Notch Pulp Magazine

Bought: $1.98 Sold: $24.99 Fees: $3.10 Profit: $19.91
Chris's 10% Commission: $1.99

This is another one of the pulp short story magazines that Chris found at VV. These have a great ROI, and while long-tail items to be sure, in the end I'll make a nice profit on them.

Dungeons & Dragons Book

Bought: $0.00 Sold: $19.99 Fees: $3.70 Profit: $16.29

This is one of the D&D books I got as part of the large lot I bought over a year ago. I actually forgot that I still had some left for sale. A nice surprise sale. This book is off to a gaming store in Yellowknife! That's a first.

TMNT Pizza Power Game

Bought: $10.50 Sold: $19.99 Fees: $3.72 Profit: $5.77
Chris's 10% Commission: $0.58

This is a classic vintage TMNT board game from the 80's. I actually had this game as a child. Chris has picked this game up twice - both times it was incomplete - but thankfully I was able to make one complete copy from the two copies. Unfortunately it's a pretty terrible board game and so does not sell for much. This is not one to pick up again!
