Flipping Experiment #1: Comic and Anime statues, comics and posters - Month #10

February 27th - X-Men Poster
Sold for: $26.00 Fees: $5.24

This was a poster we had actually two copies, but they were both in the worst shape of all the posters. They had been squished while rolled up and so the poster is bent and creased every few inches from where it was rolled. That's why it sold for so little, but glad to see despite being damaged it still sold.

The Numbers:
Initial Cost: $2,000
Number of items sold in February: 11
Number of items sold overall: 63
Gross Profit for February: $873.31
Fees to eBay: $163.78
Net Profit for February: $709.53
Net Overall Profit: $1425.53

Chris and I have recouped our initial investment, and each made a profit of $712.76

February 1st - Two Marvel Posters
Sold for: $100.00 Fees: $14.93

These are two Marvel posters from the late 1980's. Neither had been hung, and both were in pretty good condition. Such classic icon 80's artwork. The same guy bought both, and after two weeks finally paid. I'm glad to get this price for them. Hopefully the rest continue to sell this well.

February 2nd - Shi Sculpture
Sold for: $150.00 Fees: $28.83

One of the more expensive statues sold, which is a nice way to start February. This is a limited edition statue of Shi from 1999. This was a rather large statue, so glad to free up some space in my storage and make a few hundred bucks at the same time.

February 6th - Two Posters
Yesterday Chris and I finished photographing, packaging and listing the remaining 20-odd posters. After 10 months, every single item from this lot is now posted. Within 24 hours, two of the new posters sold.
Sold for: $40.00 Fees: $7.49

This first one is a door poster and is quite long (70" long in fact) and features Fairchild. The poster was in remarkably good condition. I was asking $50, but took a best offer of $40. Probably could have held out for more, but shipping to the states was $30 for this poster due to the length exceeding the maximum dimensions for the cheaper shipping option, so I didn't have to find someone willing to pay $50 for a poster, I had to find someone willing to pay $80 and I wasn't willing to wait that long for that buyer.

Sold for: $200.00 Fees: $27.83

This was a giant poster (58" x 30") and was in amazing condition. This was one of three giant posters of this size that we got in the lot, and all of them were X-Men in classic 80s and 90s artwork. None of them had any comparables on eBay, and I couldn't find them on Google. I put up all three for $200 and figured I'd take offers. Someone bought this one at my asking price in less than 24 hours. This was a great sale. One item, one piece of paper, paid for 10% of the locker. I'm glad we finally got around to listing this as it was a great sale.

February 7th - Shi Poster
Sold for: $85.00 Fees: $13.14

This is another poster that we posted on Sunday, so it sold quickly for a very good price. This is a really large poster as well (6' x 2') featuring SHI with a baby tiger.

February 7th - Lady Death Trading Card Sealed Box Set
Sold for: $174.99 Fees: $30.30

This is an unopened box of Lady Death Trading Cards from 1999. This box contains 36 packs of 6 cards. There were none on eBay, so I just put a high price expecting to take offers, but someone bought it outright at full price. Trading Cards don't usually contain any value, but sealed boxes hold some value to the right buyer - someone who wants to open those packs and hope he gets some rare card. I'm still quite shocked this actually sold for this price.

February 9th - Vampirella Poster
Sold for: $30.00 Fees: $5.74

Another poster sale, this one of a live model dressed as Vampirella. I can't see why Robin didn't want to let me keep this one to hang on our wall...

February 12 - Danger Girl Poster
Sold for: $50.00 Fees: $8.62

This is a Danger Girl poster drawn in the style of a Bond theme. It was in pretty good condition, and sold for a good price.

February 16th - Danger Girl Door Poster
Sold for: $30.00 Fees: $5.94

A return customer! The person who bought the Fairchild door poster bought this Danger Girl one the day after they received the first one. They didn't leave feedback, but I'm assuming they are happy with it if they are buying this one. Not a huge sale, but Danger Girl isn't that popular, and I'm just happy to see posters selling.

February 24th - Vamps & Vixens Art Book
Sold for: $49.99 Fees: $8.38

We had a number of these in the lots - large poster size books featuring artwork done by various artists. This one was a book of "seductive art" by Dave Stevens. It was in really good shape except for a bent front cover corner. A pretty good price for this, I'm pretty happy with this sale.
